Did you miss it? What a lovely evening. Thanks to Cllr Bernie Ellis for joining us. This year a total of over £912 was taken which, after expenses and a reserve for a new bench on the green, leaves £676.70 in support All Saints Church. Thanks to all who supported the event - great to have so many visitors joining us.

Monday 29th July - ‘Thankful Villages’  Motorcycle Run 2013
Motorcycle riders from Aberystwyth & District Motorcycle Action Group visited Herodsfoot as part of their ‘Thankful Villages’ ride of respect. They have set themselves the task of visiting all 51 Thankful Villages in the UK over a period of 9 days, covering 2500 miles and raising a target £51,000 for the Royal British Legion. A commemorative slate plaque was presented and accepted by Sheryll Murray MP on behalf of the village. Photos and videos here

All the Thankful Villages, including Herodsfoot, are tremendously proud of their status as places where all of those who went away to fight in the Great War were fortunate enough to return home alive. Some are doubly thankful, suffering no fatalities in either World War.

Herodsfoot is the only Thankful Village in Cornwall and it would be lovely to give the riders a wonderful welcome. If anyone has any ideas or would like to help in any way, please contact Jackie Taylor at Coombe Farm on 01579 320147 – we’ll arrange an informal meeting in the near future, so please let me know if you’re interested.

(Please note this NOT a race, and NOT a ride of endurance. This will be a ride of respect, supported by the British Legion and the Welsh Government First Minister, Carwyn Jones, amongst others). For more details see: www.thankfulvillagesrun.com
